Got Your MicroRack? First Impression Time!

Turns out I might just be a total noob at this. I turned some knobs and it doesn’t seem to be happening anymore. Clearly I have a lot to learn

I, having not read the entire thread, began troubleshooting before coming back and realizing you resolved the issue. That said, I think that I’m developing an idea of how to troubleshoot here that might unify and streamline the process.

Hi! It’s great to see you investigating the issue so deep with a thermal camera!

Most of our modules are analog, so they do get noticeably warm. Around ~140 °F that you’re seeing looks normal. I sometimes leave my system running for several days, and nothing bad happens.

The S&H/Noise module is indeed one of the warmer ones, especially if you keep your finger on the pad for a long time, it heats up more in that case. We’ll try to optimize this in the next revision.

That said, if it’s actually painful to keep your finger on the module, something might be off. Please try playing with it a bit more and let us know your feedback.

Also jacket has 3 completely separate jacks so you can use one of them as audio output and two others as CV/clock/etc.

It looks like you put LFO into envelope generator rise CV and sometimes setup starts playing with very long attack

(edit: oops, I kept reading, patch gone, but, you did share the concept, thanks!)

Was this sound generated only with microrack? I haven’t been able to get close to something sounding this nice

Synth-wise it’s all microrack! Of course the reverb is external, but it just provides the atmosphere around the sound. I have a patch concept a couple of messages after the demo

Microrack arrived two weeks ago, but this weekend I finally had some time to sit down and play! Mind you, I was way too lazy to check any documentation, so the quirks I experienced were probably all my own fault, so I won’t even mention them  But I had a good time patching everything into everything and seeing what worked and what didn’t. I also ran into the power issues (especially with the LPG), but reading everything above, this will very much be because of an underpowered USB-C charger. I do have a hefty PD charger around from my steam deck, so I’ll use that next time.

I made some raw recordings of audio & video, if I find some time i’ll upload them to youtube and post them on the forum here later  thanks to all devs for the great work!
