September 4 - Update 14 Summary

Like the last one, I’m not a part of the team, but just in case anyone missed the latest update, here’s a summary with some notes and comments. Feel free to chime in

ALL PCBs ARE NOW PRODUCED AND APPROVED meaning that it’s time for assembly. They’re waiting for some packing samples and had to redo some PCB sets. Next up is QA.

IF YOU ARE A BACKER you MUST go through checkout steps, even with an empty cart only having the Kickstarter Rewards. As of this moment, they WILL NOT ship if you haven’t.

Kickstarter orders should be September-October, with Preorders being October-Novemberish.

They say that the more preorders they get, the earlier they can produce and ship. This means we need to get going on promos. They’re also offering a 10% discount on 5+ modules OR 3+kits/addons.

For those in the EU, they’re gonna be in Rotterdam, Netherlands for the Dutch Modular Festival, which sounds really cool. Cooler still, they’re gonna have two kits for DIY modules that only use through-hole components. While these kits are currently exclusive to the DMF, they’ll be available later. Unfortunately, only 25 kits (not sure if that’s 25 each or both or what) are currently available for the festival, which is TOMORROW.

The kits are pretty simple and straight forward; a low-pass gate using a handful of components and a triple oscillator. I know I’ll be putting together one of these kits when they hit North America.

What do you guys think? Anyone going to the festival? If you do, try and grab some pictures for the rest of us, please?

Yeah. Unfortunately, I don’t have anyone close enough – most of my European people are at least a 6 hour trip away.

I looked at the pics Microrack posted, as well as the Dutch Modular Fest’s instagram. Looked like a fun, cozy event. The people presenting AND the market both look like incredible lineups.

Any more updates?

None, per se. That said, there was a demo video released by someone who picked up a Microrack at Dutch Modular Fest. While it’s not directly from the Microrack community, it does show off many of the modules in a finalized form and it was signal boosted by the team.

After breakfast, I’ll probably make a post showing it and discussing it because I think there’s a lot to get out of looking at the video and breaking it down a bit.
