MIDI Module

Will a module ever be made available that enables input from a MIDI or USB-MIDI keyboard? Thanks!

Hello! Guys will answer you soon.

Its seems as though there’s already software for the esp-32 module for midi to cv. I’m not sure if the module is able to midi host to allow direct connection between a usb keyboard and the module though . I’m hoping for a module with midi 3.5mm jacks with a switch to select between the two 3.5mm midi standards in the future:crossed_fingers:. Id be happy being able to hook usb devices directly to the system though as theres loads of interesting expressive usb controllers out there. Its always a bummer having to bust out a computer just to connect two devices together.

Thanks for asking! Sure, that is exactly like @Peejayy1992 described!

We have Pro Digital ESP32 module included in the Explorer kit which enables MIDI-CV convention as well as many other functions with different firmwares. But MIDI support is flashed on this module by default, so any MIDI device.

However you will have to use TRS-MIDI cable. We will try to include that, but it depends on supplies and can increase a price of the module.

Thanks! I’m not too familiar with rack-mount-type synthesis. I wasn’t too sure exactly what an ESP32 module is and what its capabilities are. But if all it requires to connect to a MIDI keyboard is a 5-pin to TRS 3.5 connector/adaptor, I certainly have some of those. Is that what the situation is?
Thanks again!

It appears that way. If you open the link mirorack used in their reply [adaf2a6b-a581-4c4c-a9ab-7bddb5926641] i believe the module off to the right of the picture is the esp-32 module. Now im wondering if one of the 3.5mm jacks supports one trs midi standard and the other one supports the other type or if we’ve potentially got midi in and out meaning the possibility of cv-midi .

It is

We have midi out, and CV-MIDI conversion as well.

We support switching between two types of trs midi cable
